“We are worth more” Is the message from West Lothian workers to their Union, in Unite the Union latest survey from Building services

Pay & Reward  workers top concerns in Unite in Building services survey

Work Voice Pay

“We are worth  more” is the message from West Lothian workers to Unite.

A big thanks to all workers who completed our recent workplace survey over 250 returned. Unite will now be looking to campaign on issues you have raised. You need a strong active Union in the workplace to successfully campaign and win on your issues at work.

To do this Unite will be calling on all members and the workforce to play their part in up and coming campaigns please contact your workplace reps on how to get involved.

Pay& reward was your most important concern, with workers asking why
in Building services West Lothian Council fails to match the salaries of other councils.  A quick look at My Jobs Scotland shows workers on thousands of £s less than their council counterparts elsewhere in Scotland. Issus around the availability and quality of P.P.E. (Personnel Protective Equipment)  a working group has been set up with Unite representation on it. There is a demand from workers  that WLC  recognise and reward them for additional skills they complete in job roles.

You the members and workers in WLC need a strong voice  to campaign and win with Unite, when we take your concerns to management.
